Verification usually only takes a few minutes. About 80% of our users are verified immediately through our automatic system, whereas about 20% need to be manually reviewed.
If an account becomes flagged for manual review, it can take a few business days (banking hours) before the account is verified by the banking compliance department.
This process can initiate for a number of reasons, such as the ID not being clear enough, information mis-match, or a flag coming back from global banking databases.
This process is a one-time US compliance and banking requirement for crypto transactions which we have to go through during account setup.
The best way to make sure that verification goes quickly is to read and follow the guidelines included in the verification process and to take clear photos of your ID.
Do not use the flash on your phone, as the glare can make the ID hard to read. The photo of your ID must be taken in clear indirect light (such as window light) on a flat surface and be completely legible.
You will also need to make sure that the address and name you provide matches exactly to the ID you uploaded, including all middle and last names. Please don’t use nicknames!
The support team cannot verify accounts. They can only provide information regarding the manual review after the completion and data is returned to us.
During the redemption process you will be provided with a private bitcoin wallet. Your bitcoin will be sent to this wallet at the end of the redemption process. You can access your bitcoin at any time from your account.
A (digital) bitcoin wallet is just like physical wallet except it resides on your computer or cell phone. The following link will provide a better explanation… LINK
When you redeem your BitCard®, your coins are stored by a licensed and regulated Nevada chartered trust company, which secures billions of dollars’ worth of fiat and cryptocurrency for some of the biggest companies in the industry.
Your Bitcoin and USD are stored under your name with you as the sole legal owner. BitCard® does not have the ability to move your funds.
Bitcoin is stored in offline cold storage wallets using best-in-class security practices and technologies.
BitCard® cannot move your Bitcoin or USD without your authorization. In order to ensure that BitCard® cannot move Bitcoin out of your account, you will receive a direct confirmation of withdrawal from our financial institution whenever you withdraw your Bitcoin. This email is delivered directly to you and requires your authorization to move Bitcoin from cold storage wallets to your own.
Bitcoin can either be stored in hot wallets or cold wallets. Hot wallets are connected to the internet so they can initiate transactions quickly, but as a result, they are exposed to more security risks.
Cold wallets (also called cold-storage) are not connected to the internet directly. Their private keys are stored offline. As a result, transactions from these wallets can’t be broadcast instantly and there are more security steps before transactions can be broadcast
YES. You can send your bitcoin to any other bitcoin wallet or exchange.
As of today, all bitcoin is held in cold wallets and cannot be broadcast instantly. This is a manual transaction that can take 12-24 hours to process.
We are in the process of adding Hot Wallets for customers that need to move their bitcoin more frequently. We expect to have this service available before July 30th, 2021. Hot Wallet transactions usually broadcast to the blockchain within 15-60 minutes
Your Bitcoin is sent to your custodial wallet as soon as you complete the gift card redemption process. Transactions settle within seconds.
No. When you purchase a BitCard® at retail, it is loaded with US dollars. You must visit us at https://www.bitcards.com and follow the redemption process to get your bitcoin.
There are no fees to redeem your BitCard®️. Your BitCard®️ is redeemed for USD, or another currency in which the card was purchased, for the exact amount in which it was issued. You are then prompted to buy bitcoin at the exchange rate posted on our website. Our Bitcoin exchange rate is roughly 10.5% higher than the average market rates. This increase in exchange rate covers our expenses related to Retailer and Distributor markups, payment processing fees, anti-fraud fees, and providing you with the custodial wallet.
If you purchase a gift card from one of our retailers, you must contact the retailer directly to learn about their return policy. Please contact retailer directly.
Redeeming your BitCard® signifies that you accept the Terms & Conditions.
The dollar value of your BitCard® may be embossed on your card or it may be printed on the card carrier. You can also check your US dollar balance by logging into our website.
Yes. Simply log on to your account at www.bitcards.com and your bitcoin is shown on your dashboard.
No, you cannot add more money to your BitCard®. However, you can purchase additional gift cards.

If you don’t redeem your BitCard® on our website, the card will never expire.
The Bitcoin we sell is priced at the time we acquire bitcoin and your card is redeemed. Bitcoin prices published online vary depending on supply, demand, and origination costs.
